Mesta offer many interesting walks and wanderings. You should definitely visit some of the watchtowers (vigles) with the panoramic sea views. These watchtowers were used for the transmission of light signals and supervised the sea, alerting villagers for the arrival of pirates. At the port of Mesta there is the watchtower of Livadi, a large circular tower, 15 meters high which has been kept intact and has a door on the second floor.
